How long to spend in Cappadocia?
Well served but still far from everything, Cappadocia is a region of Turkey that is worth a little attention. To avoid being frustrated, we advise you to spend at least 3 days there.
One or two days are enough. It's certain. Göreme Open Air Museum, Uchisar Citadel and a sunrise in an expensive hot air balloon. You have come to Cappadocia, that is undeniable. But a little bitter taste of haste could be waiting for you. Because this hyper-touristy region of Turkey is surely worth spending an extra day or two there.
4 days, the perfect timing
The first two days should serve as a warm-up lap. History to find the balance between the visit of the underground cities, the hikes in the middle of the fairy chimneys and a sunset in a well thought out place. Once you have taken your bearings, you can then adjust your program.
The options are endless. Add hiking in the endless valleys around Göreme, visit the Soganli valley and its churches hidden in the troglodyte decorations, treat yourself to an afternoon stroll in the villages of the region, Mustafapasa and Cemil for the closest , or push on to the Ihlara valley. So many reasons to justify spending 4 days in the region.
