Is it better to sleep in Bundi or Chittorgarh?
South of Jaipur, Bundi and Chittorgarh compete with their magnificent forts. But, in terms of accommodation and atmosphere in the city, let's say that the debate does not exist.
The fort of Chittorgarh is huge. Even with a car, its visit requires several hours. To admire the details of the temples, the size of its Jain towers or its ramparts overlooking the city. But that's all. In Chittorgarh, everything is concentrated in the fort. The visit can therefore easily be done during the day.
Monkeys, blue roofs and (obviously) horns
In Bundi, the atmosphere is totally different. On the outskirts of the Taragarh fort, monkeys and cows rule the roost. Each rooftop offers a breathtaking view of the blue roofs of the old town. Peaceful. In the middle of the hubbub of the Indian streets, Bundi surprises. By its tranquility. Finally, Indian tranquility obliges, irresistible horns stand out.

Bundi > Chittorgarh
The surrounding decor is well worth stopping for a few days to stroll to the rhythm of the population. And between two meals on a rooftop in the old town, an outing will take you to reservoirs carved into the rock or a distant cenotaph. An entire program. It is guaranteed, it is better to stop in Bundi than in Chittorgarh.
