Between lagoons and waterfalls

Spending the night in Huerquehue may seem expensive but, on the one hand, it allows you to visit the park well and, on the other hand, to make the entrance ticket profitable (5,000 for a “foreign” adult in March 2018) . And you will get your money's worth.

Arriving with the 1 p.m. bus, you will have time to walk to the Laguna Verde and admire the colors of the end of the day. The trail is well marked, and for the round trip on this circuit where you will see two waterfalls and three lagoons, it takes three to four hours.

Cerro San Sebastian and view of the Villarrica volcano

The next day, you can tackle the ascent of Cerro San Sebastián. A 7-8 hour ride with 1,300m of elevation. As you climb, the views of volcanoes and lagoons follow one another until you reach a superb panorama at the top of the climb. With a view of the Villarrica volcano.

For the follow-up, you can opt for a return to Pucón in the evening or choose to spend one more night admiring the stars at Camping Olga. We have already made our choice!

The distance is too short to avoid it. And you would be wrong not to go there. Just an hour from Pucón, Huerquehue National Park offers great hikes and wonderful camping spots.

Camping or cabins by the lake

A stone's throw from Lake Tinquilco, Camping Olga is ideal for enjoying a swim and a superb sunset. Before admiring the stars. In addition, this campsite, a 40-minute walk from the entrance to the park, silences the competition. You can pitch your tent there for 10,000 pesos when other campsites charge double. Cabins are also available, reservations can be made via their site.

Just go to the Caburgua bus terminal on Uruguay Street. Several buses depart daily.
