How and where to cross the Peru - Chile border

After a few days spent in Arequipa, we reached Chile by the border at Tacna. And after passing the picky Chilean customs, we quickly found ourselves in Arica.

To cross the border between Peru and Chile, we head towards Tacna. Arrived at the bus terminal from Arequipa, we go to the international terminal. Two options are then possible to cross the border and reach Arica, Chile.

The bus cheaper than the taxi

Taxis offer the trip for 20 or 25 soles/person. We opt instead for buses at 12 soles/person. The driver keeps our passport until we arrive at the border post. An exit stamp, another entry then a small scan of our backpacks (forget the fresh products), we are at the international terminal of Arica. In less than two hours in total. Effective.
